All too often it’s the practitioner who gets all of the information about the patient and the patient gets little information about the practitioner and his/her practice. I would like to change that.

My full name is Joseph Walter Accurso III and I was born here in Miami. I went to Christopher Columbus High School, Eastern College in Pennsylvania and then Life University, School of Chiropractic in Marietta, Georgia and graduated in September 1997. After a interned in Orlando with Dr John Bellemo, I worked with my father, Dr Joe Accurso Sr. for a few months before moving to Rome, Italy for 4 years.  I worked in Rome, Naples, Latina and covered a few offices in Spain. The things I missed most while living in Italy were fishing and diving in S. Florida, hiking and camping in the Carolina’s and spending time with my family here in Miami.  

When I came back to Miami, I worked in my fathers' office on the days he did not and started a practice and ,then, in 2005 moved my office to its present location in Palmetto Bay. A year later Cathy Parbst PT started seeing patients in the office and a few years later in 2009, we were married and had Sarah at home surrounded by family on August 2010.  In 2009 I became on Official Team Chiropractor for the USA Wrestling Team, USA Judo Team and USA Weightlifting.  I have been the doctor on international and local events.  This has been lots of work but an incredible pleasure.  The goal is to see as many of these young men and women in England in 2012 and be there with them.

I come from a family of Chiropractors. My father has been a chiropractor here in Miami since 1968, with my mother as his office manager. They have had quite an impact on my life and the life of those around them. I have 3 younger sisters; all are chiropractors, Amy is married to a Chiropractor (Dr. Jason Bailey) and practices here in Miami, Allison was practicing in Spain, now Norway and Jennifer is working in Virginia with people and animals. My Cousin Matthew will graduated from Chiropractic school December 2011. Two of our next door neighbors, one babysitter, my x-girlfriend, 2 of my sister's ex-boyfriends, and 2 friends from elementary and high school are now all Chiropractors.

I grew up living the chiropractic philosophy namely, all healing comes from Above Down Inside Out (ADIO).

I was not originally sure I would be a Chiropractor. It was a difficult decision between Chiropractic, Youth Ministry, and Outdoor Recreation. But in the end I realized I could be a chiropractor and still be involved in my other passions. I wanted to be a healing practitioner because I enjoy empowering people to know about the wisdom of their body, this innate intelligence, that God has given them. I get excited as people wake up to the truth that their body is intelligent and just needs to be honored to heal.

One of the things that really gets me upset and motivates me to serve more people is when I hear so many stories about people who live their lives unnecessarily medicated and drugged into what they call “health”. Which is really called "non-symptomatic life". Living in a coma is also a non symptomatic way of life. Would that be "healthy"?

I have chosen to devote my life to helping people connect with their innate intelligence, to live fuller, more aware lives. I feel that Chiropractic is the gift God has given me to share with the world to help people do this.

I am really grateful I chose to be a Chiropractor because I have been able to help so many people live happier, healthier, more aware lives all over the world. I have served people with chiropractic in Panama, Italy, Spain, and here at home in the USA.

I believe with all my heart in the principles of chiropractic, specifically, the body needs no help to heal, just no interference. With the method of Chiropractic that I practice I use the least amount of force necessary to get the greatest change in the system, your body. I have been around Chiropractic all of my life and had the opportunity to experience many different methods of care. But nothing has compared to the work we are doing now and the speed with which we can change your spine, health and life. My wife, child  and I receive regular adjustments just like you and yours.

I believe with all my heart in how I practice, and always strive to improve it. 15 years later, I continue to study so that I can give you the most "cutting edge" chiropractic and healing available. I believe I give excellent service for a fair fee. And, as I continue to do this, I want you to refer and continue to refer patients to me because you want others to feel as great as you do.  

Friends ask me why I chose to come back to Miami. Well, I have worked and traveled over a fair part of the world. But in all of my travels, I have never found a place that feels as much like home as Miami. Miami is such an international city. It is a city with openness to learn and grow. It has a strong movement of people wanting more in their life. It is a city where the people always want to improve their lives, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Chiropractic is at the forefront of doing this by removing interference in the nervous system.


The whole purpose of Abundant Life Wellness Center is remove interference in the nervous system and life so that your body functions in a state of health and healing. As we remove the interference in the nervous system people are able to develop body-mind awareness. This awareness causes healing to occur that is like no other healing I have ever seen or read about. This body-mind awareness takes a person from a defensive state to a state of healing and freedom to grow.

What makes my practice unique is that this is a Maximized Living Office, bringing you the 5 Essentials of Health and Healing. I am here to serve your entire family and lead them to their God-given potential.  Not just those with unpleasant symptoms. I do not judge your symptoms as good or bad. I am not practicing medicine or an alternative method of medicine. I do not want you to be like you were just before you got your problems. I want to find and correct the cause of your problem. I want to help you create new strategies in your body and life that never existed before. I want you to be better than you were ever before. If I get you to the place that you were before you felt bad, you will make the same decisions again that led you into this uncomfortable situation. My goal is to help you create new options/ possibilities in your body and life.
LET ME BE CLEAR. My personal promise to you is that I will always be learning and perfecting my skills to deliver my best in Heath and Wellness Care to you, your family and mine. And nothing has as much evidence as Maximized Living in ASSISTING people to TRANSFORM, HEAL, AND EVOLVE!
